Christian's Low Carb Food Blog: Put even simpler...
The body has two fuel sources:
- Fat
- Sugar
Human society largely has been transitioned into thinking ‘sugar fuel’ is better than ‘fat fuel’. The reason why lies in the fact that ‘sugar fuel’ is burnt off quicker than ‘fat fuel’. However, the truth is that the chemical that regulates the ‘sugar fuel’ (insulin) actually stores ‘fat fuel’ away and keeps them from being burned as long as ‘sugar fuel’ is present in the body. You burn ‘fuel’ all day… most while you sleep!
Sugar Fuel
Muscle cells store it as “glycogen”.
The liver converts left over Glycogen into fat.
Fat cells store it as fat.
Fat Fuel
Fatty acids – the form we burn as fuel
Triglycerides – the form we store
-This diet basically switches the fuel your body runs on.-
