Low carbohydrate diet may reverse kidney failure... →
combattant-de-la-liberte: ScienceDaily (Apr. 21, 2011) — Researchers from Mount Sinai School of Medicine have for the first time determined that the ketogenic diet, a specialized high-fat, low carbohydrate diet, may reverse impaired kidney function in people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. They also identified a previously unreported panel of genes associated with diabetes-related kidney...

Starting over again today
My brothers invited me out to eat the other day. No big deal, neither are big on cooking meals so they often eat out at restaurants. They know I feel left out so every now and then they invite me along. Their stop that day was pizza. I love pizza, more specifically the crust. They know I love it and thought I deserved a treat after my month of hard work. I should have said no or just ate the...

shadowed replied to your post: Why are my taste buds so sensitive? Bottled water is so bad for you :( I shamefully have to say ‘I know…’, I tend to stick to filtered water in a glass but sometimes I want something different or to take with me. It seems like everything prepackaged is bad for you and since I can’t afford a 100% green lifestyle I try to pick my battles.

Why are my taste buds so sensitive?
I bought a few bottles of Clear American’s flavored water after seeing so many people raving about it. But after a few drinks all I can taste is an odd chemical flavor; it’s either from the sweetener or artificial flavors but it’s there. I still have two more bottles of this stuff, what a waste of money. From now on I’m sticking to Fuze Slenderize.

How To Deal With Negative People →
Because no matter what happens in life, no matter how old you get, job you have or how thin or fat you become, there will always be someone who isn’t going to like you. Building confidence in yourself, and understanding that negative people you encounter in life are projecting their issues onto you, will take you a long way. Don’t wait until you think you’re perfect (which odds...

I wish giving up my sugar addiction was this easy....
The first day I went without caffeine I thought I was going to die. I had the worst headache, I was so bitchy and tired. 3 days later you would have never known I had a problem with it. That isn’t what I was expecting to happen. It’s been 10 days since I’ve had anything sweet (sugar or artificial) and I’m still having problems with cravings. Not over the top crazy like the...

Caffeine can cause weight gain?!
Are you kidding me? I’ve been using it to give me extra energy for the last two months and now I find out it may have been stalling me all along! Apparently when you ingest the stimulant it does more then just spike your adrenalin, it also spikes your insulin. If you’re sensitive to blood sugar spikes it can cause your body to store fat. I will definitely be stopping this habit...

Day 8
I’m on my 8th day of induction and I’m still going strong. I’m a bit hungry but I’m always hungry; I think my ghrelin levels are too high. I’m fighting the urge to look at the scale every time I pass it. After all these months I would love to see progress with my numbers but if nothing has changed I’m honestly going to be disappointed, so why risk it? I was...

Be Better, Not Perfect. →
hiphoorayformycpa: You always have a choice in your emotional response. Happiness is not about what happens to you, but about how you choose to respond to what happens. Accept your mistakes. Human, party of one. Face it, you’re human. And humans make mistakes. Daily. Learn from it & leave it. Accept your friends mistakes. Your friends would be the guests at your Human, Party of Two (or...
